About Lizbeth

Want to know a little about me? Well, born and raised in Las Vegas, I graduated from UNLV with an English degree in 2010. I love to write (obviously), my favorite color is usually brown and the best TV shows are New Girl, Friends and Chopped. Video games and movies are my main forms of entertainment, and cooking is an activity I enjoy sharing with my boyfriend. I have been an office assistant for a law firm since 2010 and before that for Clark County.

Several of my poems have won awards and been published in both print and audio collections.

A small sample of the poets who inspire me most are Edgar Allan Poe, e. e. cummings, Sylvia Plath, William Wordsworth, the Brownings, Langston Hughes, and Shel Silverstein and I think my style derives from a combination of these, being sometimes whimsical, sometimes dark, sometimes full of love or joy, but always trying to capture those brief moments that linger in memory and for one reason or another matter.

Anything else? Just ask.
